On the beautiful island of Koh Ra we have scoured the land and sea to find the best Thailand activities waiting right on our doorstep. At Koh Ra Beach Camp we have jungle trekking, mangrove exploration, snorkeling and fishing for visitors to the island. These activities allow you to really explore Koh Ra and get even more out of your Thailand camping holiday. However, Koh Ra has even more to offer, with options to participate in Kayaking adventures, yoga retreats and even research and education programmes.

Meeting interesting wildlife at Koh Ra

We have put together a number of itineraries for visitors to Koh Rah Beach Camp encompassing different sets of activities. The two day one night itinerary allows you to experience the best Thailand activities available here, while the three day two night packs in everything, allowing you to get the full Koh Rah Experience. Jungle Trekking

Jungle trekking on Koh Ra

Jungle trekking is a popular Thailand activity available throughout the country, however, few places have the diversity of jungle that Koh Ra has just waiting to be explored.

Explore the dense rainforest that Koh Ra has to offer with one of our professional and experienced guides. We customise each trek to each individual’s needs: they can be short, medium or long treks of varying difficulty levels. Our guides will point out interesting plants, trees, water vines and any wildlife that might make an appearance. The guides are also trackers, so will be on the lookout for deer and wild pig tracks. They’re well trained, so if a 90kg wild boar appears our guides will know what to do!

Snorkeling

Exploring what the Andaman sea has to offer near Koh Ra is another Thailand activity that we have to offer. There are a few small islands nearby that are great for snorkeling next to and viewing the local marine life and vegetation. The best thing about these islands is that they’re not visited by many people and this means that you are likely to have the place to yourself! Our guides are advanced snorkelers and free divers, so you are always in safe hands.

Bird Watching

Another new activity for the 2013/2014 season, Koh Ra Beach Camp now offers the popular activity of bird watching. For budding or seasoned ornithologists Koh Ra is a dream island. Home to a vast variety of bird life, from small Bee Eaters to large Hornbills it is an excellent location to spot interesting feathered friends.

Koh Ra is a perfect island for bird watching for many reasons. As Koh Ra boasts four different types of forest it is suited to many different species of birds. Yet another advantage of bird watching on Koh Ra is that is is so undeveloped, meaning that the wildlife here has not been disturbed by human intrusion. Koh Ra is a first class destination for any enthusiastic bird watchers visiting Thailand.

Fishing

You can fish from the beach or rocks on Koh Ra or rent the longtail boat to take you out into deeper waters. Here you can catch fish such as Dorado, King Mackerel, Snapper of even Barracuda. Whatever you catch you can take back to the camp for the cook to make you some delicious Thai food.

Beach

Along the west coast of Koh Ra are over 10 beautiful golden beaches waiting to be explored. Koh Ra Beach Camp is the only accommodation on the western side of the island, meaning that these beaches will be entirely yours.
